What you will learn from this workshop
My photography workshops are designed to accommodate anyone, from beginners to experienced amateurs, who wants to improve their photographic understanding and ability, regardless of prior knowledge. We offer two shooting sessions per day, as well as image analysis in the evening after dinner.
Landscape photographer, Alberto Fornasari, a multi-award winner, and experienced professional Cymon Taylor will lead the team. They will assist you in some of the most evocative locations in the Val d’Orcia, allowing you to create impressive captures. There is time to think about composition and light, as well as to improve your shooting and post-production techniques.

Recommended equipment & clothing
DSLR or mirrorless camera, lenses ranging from 24 to 200 mm, tripod, remote release, and notebook Tripod with ball head. Spare batteries, camera bag, card reader, and backup external drives Filters: ND Grads and Polariser. Upload your camera manual to your laptop. Sunglasses, a hat or umbrella, and sunscreen are recommended. Gloves and a headlamp or torch. Walking shoes and indoor shoes that are both comfortable. International plug adapters and mosquito repellent.
Our photography sessions will take place at sunrise and sunset, so dress warmly against the cool wind and any rain.
We connected via email and arranged to meet very early one morning near Pienza. We spent the next several hours together photographing some beautiful sites. Cymon is a born teacher wth decades of experience, so even though I would call myself “advanced” he showed me a number of new tips and challenged some of my thinking regarding exposure, camera angles, sunrise shooting, etc.
Cymon was engaging, encouraging and a lot of fun! He even took me to his favorite local coffee shop and we talked about the beauty of light, post-processing, cameras, lenses and life in general. He guided me to several wonderful spots I would not have found on my own, which is exactly what I was hoping for. I highly recommend Cymon Taylor as a photo-guide, no matter what your experience level. You won't be disappointed!"
